Fantastic Concert For A Great Cause

This past Saturday I had the opportunity to attend a free concert at the James D. Kreigh Park, right here in Oro Valley. It was a benefit concert organized by local residents, Michael and Bonnie Quinn. It featured Leonid and Friends, a band that was just finishing up their US tour of four months, and who gifted their last concert to support as a tribute to Veterans and First Responders.

There was a huge turnout for the concert, which was absolutely amazing. The music was incredible, but even more impressive was the community spirit on display from everyone I came across. After serving as Oro Valley's Police Chief for 20 years it was truly heart warming to see so many friendly faces out on that gorgeous day to support and honor our Veterans and First Responders. It's my understanding that all the proceeds went to the Living Memorial project that will be built here in Oro Valley, and when I think of the amount of generosity and support we haver here between residents and neighbors it reminds me of why I'm running for Mayor, and how much more I can do to continue to serve this wonderful community.
